12 month mobile broadband contract
Signing a 12 month mobile contract lets you take advantage of the free hardware and cheaper monthly costs of a contract without having to commit to the same provider and the same package for up to two years.
3 (Three)
3 (www.Three.co.uk) offers a 12 month option on all three of its pay-monthly packages, with a choice of 1GB, 3GB or 7GB monthly allowances. You’ll get a free USB modem stick or dongle on both the Broadband Plus and Broadband Max packages, costing £15 and £25 a month respectively, or if you want the cheapest Broadband Lite package at only £10 a month, you’ll have to pay £49 for your hardware.
T-Mobile
T Mobile (www.T-Mobile.co.uk) customers have to pay a higher monthly fee if they take out a 12 month contract as opposed to its longer 24 month packages, offering fair usage limits of either 3GB or 10GB a month. The Web’n’Walk Plus 12 months and the Web’n’Walk Max 12 months cost £20 and £35 a month respectively - £5 a month more than the 24 month options. You’ll also have to pay £19.99 if you want T-Mobile’s USB dongle stick on one of these packages.
Vodafone
Vodafone (www.Vodafone.co.uk) doesn’t charge a different rate for customers taking its 12 month contracts, and now all 12 month customers also get a free USB modem stick too. The 3GB plan costs £15 a month while the 5GB plan costs £25 a month.
Vodafone is currently offering 24 month customers the chance to get a free Dell netbook laptop with built-in mobile broadband connectivity on £25 and £30 a month plans.
Virgin Media
Virgin Media (www.VirginMedia.com) is the latest entrant to the mobile broadband market and offers one 12 month contract for customers also signed up to its cable Broadband L or XL packages. It just costs an additional £5 a month but only comes with a 1GB monthly download allowance. The USB modem stick costs £25.
Virgin Media does also offer an 18 month contract for non-customers with a more generous 3GB monthly allowance.
