Mobile broadband provider 3 has cut the cost of its mobile wifi routers.

Its latest service offers a wireless broadband router that connects to the mobile broadband network, allowing users to get online with multiple laptops, iPod Touch’s and other wireless-enabled gadgets.

Mobile wifi is the future of mobile broadband

The modem cost on its rolling one month contract - which comes with a 5GB monthly download allowance for £15 a month - has been cut by £30 to just £49.99, while the 3GB ready-to-go kit has also been reduced from £99.99 to £69.99. It comes preloaded with a 3GB data allowance that can be used over three months.

3 Mobile Broadband (www.Three.co.uk) has also introduced a pay as you go mobile wifi option, priced at just £49.99 for the modem.

Earlier this week 3 announced that it was offering new customers a monthly £3 discount on one of its most popular tariffs - Broadband 5GB on an 18 month contract. This would bring the monthly cost down to just £12 a month, saving customers £54 over the course of their contract.

Customers can click here to sign up to the new £3 discount offer, and simply enter the promotional code 3MBB3OFF to qualify.

Michael Phillips, Broadbandchoices.co.uk product director, said: ““Mobile wifi - or MiFi as 3 calls it - is the future of mobile broadband. It allows customers to connect any wireless-enabled device, from laptops to cameras, no matter where they are.

“However, users that are sharing their connection need to be extra careful not to exceed their download allowance on one of the pay monthly plans - at 10p per MB, out of bundle data can soon add up.”
