About Us
broadbandchoices was launched in 2005 and is the UK’s leading Ofcom accredited broadband comparison calculator.
Who we are
broadbandchoices are the broadband, phone and TV comparison experts. We make it easy to compare the packages available in your area so choosing the right deal is a doddle. We are completely impartial - and Ofcom say so too - our price comparison calculator is one of only a few awarded the Ofcom seal of approval.
Our calculator is simple to use and is totally customisable so you can prioritise your must-have features. It compares hundreds of deals available in your area from the broadband big boys like Sky, BT and Virgin Media, as well as many of the smaller providers.
Just pop in your postcode, and in a matter of seconds you will be able to take your pick from a range of great offers currently on the market.
Not only does broadbandchoices help thousands of people save money on their bills each month, we also offer an array of helpful tips, guides and up-to-the-minute news articles written by our team of experts. This is why, since our launch in 2005, broadbandchoices has become the go-to site for people looking for a better deal on their broadband and other home communications services.
And if there is anything you want to know that isn't covered on the site, drop us a line via Facebook, on Twitter or via the contact us section on the website and we'll get right back to you with the answer.

How to use our site
How we make our money
broadbandchoices receives advertising fees and commissions from a number of the providers that appear on the site. This does not increase the cost of any packages that you might subscribe to via our site and we do not charge you for any of the services available on our website. We only feature providers that comply with our strict listing criteria in order to ensure the high quality and comprehensiveness of the provider's listed - regardless of whether they pay us commission. Our commercial arrangements have no impact on how we list the providers or packages that appear in your results list.
Our comparison calculator also has the much sought-after Ofcom seal of approval so you can be extra confident of our impartiality.
Our calculator lets you compare packages offered by other providers, and check for hidden costs or fair usage policies so you can make sure you are choosing a deal that is right for you. Our results are automatically listed by total first year cost, but if you have other preferences, you can select alternative ways to rank the results, for example, by monthly cost, or connection speed or download limits.
Our 'Featured deals' table contains provider sponsored listings selected by broadbandchoices. For the wider list of packages, sorted according to your chosen criteria, you can enter your postcode in the postcode box.
We are dedicated to providing informative, impartial content that offers true value to our customers.

How accurate is our broadband speeds information?
The speeds we show on our results table are providers' advertised 'up to' speeds, rather than speeds specific to your postcode.
Unfortunately, we can't list postcode-specific speed information in our results, as we would need to test each individual line to come up with an accurate figure. However, a provider should allow you to check speeds before you subscribe to their service.
The 'up to' speeds we show indicate what at least 10% of a provider's customers can actually get, following advertising rules set in place by the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) and Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP).
That, of course, means that up to 90% of people might not actually receive the speeds listed, which can seem a little misleading. To counter this, we try to explain what the 'up to' figure means on our results table, and often speak out in the media about the need for providers to promote more accurate speeds.

About the broadbandchoices TV advert
The broadbandchoices TV adverts have attracted lots of attention since our first one, centred around a couple in a pub, aired on Boxing Day 2012.
In May 2013, our second TV advert was launched - this time featuring two guys on a train - to further spread the word about broadbandchoices! Both adverts were devised by Mike Longden, of brand and marketing consultancy thecoalshed.
