Be Broadband has announced that customers will now be able to get its Be Value package at a reduced price for the remainder of 2008.

The 888 promotion - so named because customers will be able to get up to 8Mb for £8 for the remainder of 2008 - went live yesterday.

"Be value offers an up to 8Mb service for a generation of users for whom broadband is an essential part of their lifestyle"

The package, which normally costs £14 a month will be available for only £8 until 1 January 2009 when it will return to the standard price.

Oli White, head of marketing at Be Broadband (www.BeThere.co.uk), said: “Be value offers an up to 8Mb service for a generation of users for whom broadband is an essential part of their lifestyle, complete with a level of customer service that has earned us a strong reputation among the broadband community.”

The award winning broadband provider - best known for its super-fast packages offering speeds of up to 24Mb - launched the Be Value package as “the perfect service for light online users, which is not light on features”.

It offers download speeds of up to 8Mb, upload speeds of up to 1.3Mb, “unlimited” downloads (fair usage applies), a free 24-hour support line and a free Be Box modem.

Michael Phillips, BroadbandChoices.co.uk product director, said: “This is a great offer for anyone who is unhappy with their provider and looking to switch.

“Be Broadband is a dependable ISP, known for delivering reliable speeds and a good connection. And coupled with free technical support 24 hours a day, super-fast upload speeds, free hardware and now a cheaper headline rate, Be is a very attractive provider.”

Is this only for new customers or are all existing customers automatically switched to the lower price? - Aug 5 2008 11:32AM
