The Home Hub is the free wireless router that BT - the UK’s biggest broadband provider - sends out to customers signing up to any of its Total Broadband packages.
BT Home Hub
BT’s (www.BT.com) new, next generation, “N” technology Home Hub is free on all of its Total Broadband packages, except Option 1 where customers can pay £25 to upgrade from the older version, and promises to deliver “up to twice the wireless range of all other UK providers”.
As well as a better range, the new Home Hub offers a better, more reliable connection so you won’t be losing your wireless signal while surfing the net out in the garden.
It comes with the latest WPA encryption technology to make sure that your network is as secure as possible, as well as a built-in firewall.
BT said it has “made the set-up process 50 per cent simpler”, and have even installed a Power Save mode to help you “do your bit for the environment as well as saving on your energy bill”.
Benefits of the Home Hub
Using the Home Hub allows you to connect multiple computers - and phones - throughout the house to your BT Broadband connection wirelessly.
BT’s new version is more reliable and has a better range than most wireless routers provided by ISPs as it uses the new “N” wireless technology.
And as well as being more secure and simpler to install, it also has a host of new features such as a Power Save mode and a new “find handsets” button that makes all phones connected to the Hub ring.
BT broadband
BT is the UK’s most popular broadband provider with 4.5 million customers and a range of broadband, home phone, digital TV and wireless services.
The Home Hub wireless router that must be used with any BT Total Broadband connection is free on all packages.
