Eclipse was launched in 1995 as a dial-up internet service, offering its first broadband packages in 2001 - becoming the first ISP to offer a service simple enough to be installed at home without the need of an engineer. In 2002 Eclipse became the first provider to offer online ordering.
Today Eclipse has more than 200,000 customers and a range of broadband packages that have all recently been upgraded to speeds of up to 24Mb.
Eclipse says that 80 per cent of its customers recommend its service a testament to its dedication to customer service - the ISP aims to answer all calls within 60 seconds or less.
Eclipse currently offers three broadband packages. Each comes with a set monthly download allowance of 2GB, 10GB or a massive 50GB - though the top package also offers free overnight downloads. If you reach your limit you will be charged £1.22 per additional GB.
Each package can also be optimised towards your personal needs using your online account.
Customers on the top two packages also have the choice of either a one month or 12 month contract when they sign up.
Eclipse Broadband can also be bundled with a selection of home phone plans.
Each of Eclipse’s broadband packages offer traffic shaping, allowing you to personalise your connection for email, web surfing or gaming via an online control panel so that your broadband suits your needs.
Eclipse Broadband also comes with a static IP address as standard, UK-based customer support and free virus and spam protection.
Because Eclipse offers set download allowances instead of “unlimited broadband” it also promises not to throttle your connection.
The ISP also offers domain names, web hosting and eStores as well as standard residential broadband packages - perfect for small businesses and home offices.
Michael Phillips, BroadbandChoices.co.uk product director, said: “Over the years Eclipse has worked hard for its good reputation. It offers good value broadband packages with reliable connections and a high customer service standards.
As well as being a reliable home broadband provider, Eclipse is a great choice for small businesses and home office workers, with a wide range of added extras such as static IP addresses, free webspace and even an inclusive domain name with its top home broadband package.
