ISPA Awards 2007
20-02-07 - The annual Internet Services Providers’ Association (ISPA) Awards were held in London on February 15th, with big wins for Eclipse Internet, ntl: Telewest (now Virgin Media) and Madasafish.
Eclipse won the Best Consumer Broadband trophy. Beating competition from the likes of Be Broadband, Entanet, Namesco and Seriously Internet, an ISPA spokesperson put the win down to Eclipse’s automated order processing, uncapped broadband and “rapid delivery of its broadband services”.
ISPA also gave special recognition to runner-up Be Broadband “for pushing the limits of broadband capabilities in a consumer market by being bold and offering ‘up to 24 meg broadband’.”
The award for Best Consumer ISP (sponsored by Alcatel-Lucent) went to ntl: Telewest, which has recently been rebranded as Virgin Media. An ISPA spokesperson said, “The judges were impressed with ntl:Telewest’s good technical delivery and its investment in customer services over the past year. The judges also felt that ntl:Telewest’s packages give consumers a good choice of services available in the broadband market.”
Biscit, Namesco, Tiscali and Seriously Internet were all finalists in the Best Consumer Email category (sponsored by Eversheds), with Madasafish the winner.
An ISPA spokesperson said, “The ease by which consumers are able to navigate Madasafish’s email interface using key commands was seen as a great feature.”
