Fibre-to-the-home specialist Fibrecity is to begin the next stage of its 100Mb rollout, bringing superfast broadband to homes and businesses in Dundee, Scotland.
Within two years, all 68,000 homes in the city will be able to access speeds of up to 100Mb, with even faster 1Gb boosts available as well.

The i3 Group, which has already launched its Fibrecity network in Bournemouth, plans to deliver speeds of up to 100Mb broadband to a million homes within four years.
The company has signed a deal with Fujitsu to begin laying new fibre optic cables.
Elfed Thomas, CEO of i3 Group, said: “Our Fibrecity network is the UK’s largest fibre-to-the-home initiative and we’re delighted to have signed Fujitsu to support us with the roll out of our technology.

Other cities set to join the Fibrecity network include Derby, Halton, Nottingham, Plymouth and York, while Aberdeen, Belfast, Birmingham and Bristol are also being considered.
The i3 Group has pioneered new, low-cost methods of delivering fibre optic broadband without having to dig up roads to lay cables, including using existing sewer systems.
Virgin Media (www.Virginmedia.com) is set to trial its own innovative method of bringing superfast broadband to areas outside its cable network.
It will use existing electricity poles to bring speeds of up to 50Mb broadband to the Welsh village of Crumlin, Caerphilly, it announced earlier this week.
