(20-07-07) - Global Internet (www.Global.net) tops the customer satisfaction polls according to consumer watchdog Which? who published the results of its broadband survey this month.
More than 12,000 Which? customers responded to its broadband survey in November 2006 and the results showed that 77 per cent of Global customers were “very satisfied” with their provider, compared to only five per cent of Bulldog (www.BulldogBroadband.com) customers.
While Bulldog was bottom of the pile, the top three featured Global, Waitrose (www.Waitrose.com) and Zen (www.Zen.co.uk) respectively. Waitrose and Zen scored 76 per cent and 74 per cent respectively in terms of “very satisfied” customers, and all three “Which? Best Buy” ISPs scored highly in the value for money, customer service and reliability of connection categories too.
On the lower end of the scale, less than 25 per cent of high profile ISPs TalkTalk (www.TalkTalk.co.uk), AOL (www.AOL.co.uk), Orange (www.Orange.co.uk) and Sky (www.Sky.com) customers said they were “very satisfied”. Three of these providers are “free” broadband suppliers - a clear indication that customers really do get what they pay for.
Overall only 16 per cent of people rated their ISP’s customer service as very good, but for Waitrose alone this figure rises to 71 per cent.
Chris Eagle, BroadbandChoices.co.uk commercial manager, said: “Again, we see that customers of ‘free’ and very cheap broadband save money only to end up with a poor connection and scant customer service.
“When considering broadband providers, consumers need to think about more than just the price - they need to take into account every aspect of the service before tying themselves in for up to 18 months.”
