Yorkshire provider’s fibre service tops Which? customer satisfaction survey.
Plusnet offers the best superfast broadband in the country, Which? has said.
The Yorkshire broadband provider's fibre service topped the first Which? customer satisfaction survey of superfast services - defined as those with speeds of at least 24Mb by communications regulator Ofcom.
Plusnet’s Value Fibre and Extra Fibre superfast packages gained a customer satisfaction rating of 84%, followed by Virgin Media’s fibre optic service, which scored 65%.
BT Infinity was hot on the heels of Virgin Media with 62%, with TalkTalk’s Fibre Optic Broadband Boost bringing up the rear with a superfast customer satisfaction score of 42%.
The survey, which polled almost 12,000 Which? Connect members, also revealed the average customer satisfaction for superfast services (63%) is higher than the average customer satisfaction for non-superfast services (53%) offered by the same providers.
Plusnet’s Value package’s customer score was 74%, Virgin Media’s “up to 10Mb” cable service and copper wire service scored 56%, BT’s Total Broadband Option 1 47% and TalkTalk’s Essentials 42%.
With packages needing a score of 70% or over to be recognised as Which? Recommended, Plusnet’s Value package was the only one offered by a provider that also offers superfast services to qualify.
Jamie Ford, Plusnet CEO, said: “It is great that for the second time running we have been appointed as a Which? Recommended Provider. To be recognised for both our value products and be deemed market leading for superfast broadband is fantastic.”
However, Plusnet’s Value package was outdone in the customer score stakes by Utility Warehouse’s Lite package (75%), BE broadband’s Value package (76%) and Zen Internet’s Lite package (86%). O2’s The Basics and Access packages also qualified for the Which? recommendation, as did Eclipse’s Home Lite.
