Sky offers standalone broadband

Telecoms giant Sky (www.Sky.com) is offering broadband-only packages for the first time.

Its Unlimited broadband package - one of the few truly unlimited broadband packages on the market - is now available to customers taking their line rental and calls from another provider, or who don’t want Sky TV.

Sky’s Unlimited broadband comes with speeds of up to 20Mb broadband and no fair usage policy or traffic management policy. And customers can now get the package for £15 a month as a standalone product.

If you want to cut your broadband bill to just £10 a month, you can also switch your landline calls to Sky Talk. Sky’s evening and weekend package Sky Freetime is actually free, which means that you can cut your bills by £5 a month simply by switching your calls.

And if you want unlimited calls, you can upgrade to its Talk Unlimited package for £5 a month, giving you Unlimited broadband and calls for £15 a month.

As ever, the package is also available to customers who want to bundle their broadband with calls and digital TV, which cuts the cost down to just £7.50 a month.

Michael Phillips, product director at Broadbandchoices.co.uk, said: “Sky’s standalone broadband allows people to get truly unlimited broadband without breaking the bank and it will appeal to anyone who wants a high-end package without a digital TV subscription. The ISP also recently boosted its ‘free broadband’ to speeds of up to 20Mb,” he added, “making it the fastest ever ‘free broadband’ package, though it did still keep the low 2GB download allowance.”
