Broadband provider Tiscali has removed the introductory rates from all of its packages.
Tiscali Broadband (www.Tiscali.co.uk) had been offering a reduced rate for three months to all new broadband customers, but all packages now have a set, fixed cost for the duration of their 12 month contracts.
The standalone Broadband Only package, which comes with speeds of up to 8Mb, “unlimited” downloads - subject to a fair usage policy, a free modem and free set up will no longer cost £6.49 for the first three months. It will now be £14.99 for the duration of the contract. Customers can add a wireless router for a one-off payment of £10.
The Broadband, Weekend Talk and Line Rental deal, which comes with the same broadband package along with inclusive weekend landline calls and line rental, is now also £14.99 a month for the duration of the contract. It was previously £9.99 a month for the first three months.
The Broadband, Anytime Talk and Line Rental package was previously £14.99 for the first three months, while the TV, Broadband, Weekend Talk and Line Rental package used to cost £15.99 a month for the first three months, with both rising to £19.99 a month thereafter. Both now cost £19.99 a month for the full 12 months.
Finally, the TV, Broadband, Anytime Talk and Line Rental package, which was £19.99 a month for the first three months, will now cost £24.99 a month for the duration of the contract.
All of the bundled broadband packages come with a free wireless router, though a £30 set-up fee is charged.
“Although Tiscali has removed its introductory offers, its bundled packages remain very good value for money since they include line rental - saving customers at least £126 a year,” said Michael Phillips, BroadbandChoices.co.uk product director.
“However, while Tiscali has been removing incentives for new customers, a host of other providers such as O2 Broadband (www.O2.co.uk), Sky Broadband (www.Sky.com), TalkTalk Broadband (www.TalkTalk.co.uk) and Virgin Media (www.VirginMedia.com) have been offering free services for at least three months.”
