Vodafone mobile broadband (www.Vodafone.co.uk) has introduced a new mobile wi-fi dongle that allows you to connect up to five different devices to your mobile broadband at one time.
As well as letting you share your mobile broadband connection with friends and family, the new device also allows you to connect a wider range of gadgets, from your laptop to your iPod Touch, iPad or smartphone.
It also has a long battery life, running for up to four hours on a single charge - making it perfect for train journeys or airport lounges. It has 256MB of built-in memory but you can add up to 32GB using the Micro SD slot.
Vodafone’s mobile wi-fi is available on a range of different price plans. The device is free if you take a £25 a month plan, which gives you a 5GB download allowance. It costs £29 if you take the £20 a month 4GB plan or £49 on the 3GB, £15 a month tariff. It is also available on a rolling 30-day contract.
Michael Phillips, Broadbandchoices.co.uk product director, said: “Traditional mobile broadband dongles need a USB port on a computer, but by creating a mobile wireless hotspot, Vodafone’s mobile wi-fi lets you connect multiple devices to the internet at the same time.
“But bear in mind that sharing your connection will also use up your data allowance faster - so make sure you keep an eye on how much you've downloaded as out of bundle costs can soon add up,” he warned.
Three mobile broadband (www.Three.co.uk) also offers a similar mobile wi-fi device.
