Broadband Migration Made Easier

(08-12-06) - Sky’s broadband service has been given a makeover and relaunched as Sky Anytime to incorporate their new movie and television downloads service.

Sky broadband, originally a free add-on for customers with their TV package, is now offering single episode, series and movie downloads.

But if this is a bid to entice people away from free, illegal file sharing, Sky might need to rethink their prices as well as their branding.

Although Premium Sky Movie customers will still be able to get around 300 free downloads, a single episode of Lost series three will cost £2.50, while an episode of Stargate will set you back £1.50 – so if you’re going to be downloading a whole series you might just be better off buying the box set.

Also, you can only keep pay-per-view movies for one week, and hitting play starts the countdown on your 48 hour viewing window.
