Tariam is one of Europe's premier suppliers of satellite broadband communications. It provides home users, business customers, governments and the military with satellite-based communications. Tariam's Homenet satellite broadband package offers two-way satellite internet specifically designed for home users.

The Tariam Satellite Broadband service

Tariam (www.Tariam.co.uk) offers a two-way satellite broadband connection to home users who cannot live in such remote areas that they cannot access the internet any other way. However, satellite broadband is an expensive option and with slower speeds and lower download allowances than standard broadband services, it should only be considered as a last option for home users.

Tariam offers download speeds of up to 3.6Mb, with a choice of different download allowances ranging from 2.4GB a month to 12GB.

In addition to your monthly subscription charge, you will also have to pay a one-off installation and hardware fee of £717.

Tariam Satellite Broadband benefits

Tariam’s greatest pull is the fact that it uses satellite technology and doesn’t rely on the fixed-line telephone or mobile networks - so no matter where you are, or how far you are from your local telephone exchange or mobile phone mast, you'll be able to get online.

While it isn’t cheap, it is currently the only option for some people in very remote broadband not-spots.
