The awards, organised by the Internet Service Provider’s Association, celebrate innovation, best practice and consistency of service in the broadband sector.
On Plusnet, ISPA were especially impressed by their ability to ‘put their customers first with transparent usage allowances’, with the judges paying testament to their one month contracts, which were described as ‘very beneficial to consumers’.
Ironically, Plusnet is actually a part of the BT Group, and it’s BT that dominates the broadband market supplying eight million customers nationwide.
Michael Phillips, Product Director at Broadband Choices, concurs with ISPA’s choice of best consumer ISP:
‘‘The ISPA award for best consumer ISP is certainly in line with our own satisfaction survey. 4000 of our subscribers rated their ISPs for quality, reliability, clarity of billing and pricing, and it was Plusnet who took the chequered flag, followed by Sky in second place and Pipex(www.pipex.co.uk) in third.’
