Pay as you go broadband

Pay as you go broadband

You might think that dial up is the only pay as you go option when it comes to accessing the internet, but there are other ways; and pay as you go broadband is a good choice for many households.

How does pay as you go broadband work?

Pay as you go broadband simply means that you don’t have a contract of any kind. When you want to go online, either for a day, or for a month at a time, you simply sign in, pay the fee and start surfing.

Most pay as you go broadband packages are now offered by mobile phone providers in the form of mobile broadband - which means you can take it with you wherever you go. Once you have bought your dongle, which allows you to connect to the internet, you simply pay per day or week of use, or opt for a full 30 days - with costs staring from as £2 per day with T-Mobile Broadband (www.T-Mobile.co.uk).

Are there alternatives?

Pay monthly broadband costs are at an all-time low, so it’s never been cheaper to get online. However, if you don’t want to commit to a 12, 18 or even 24 month contract, you could go for a no contract broadband package.

Although you’ll have to pay a connection fee or an exit fee (if you leave within 12 months) with most no contract broadband packages, this can be as little as £12.75 and you’re still free to cancel and leave whenever you want.
