Pay as you go mobile broadband

If you’re interested in mobile broadband but don’t want to sign up to one of the lengthy 12, 18 or even 24 month contracts on offer, there is another way.

Both T-Mobile (www.T-Mobile.co.uk) and Vodafone (www.Vodafone.co.uk) currently offer daily pay-as-you-go options, while Three (www.Three.co.uk) offers a range of rolling month by month contracts, and Vodafone offers one such contract, that you can cancel whenever you want without penalty.

Pay-as-you-go mobile broadband

Currently two mobile broadband suppliers offer a daily pay-as-you-go option:

One month mobile broadband contracts

However, if you want to make more regular use of your mobile broadband so would prefer the value of monthly payments, but don’t want to sign a long contract, both Vodafone & O2offer 30 day rolling contracts.

The benefits of no contract mobile broadband

No contract and pay-as-you-go mobile broadband are great ways to try out the new technology and see if it’s right for you.

At the moment, heavy downloaders won’t be able to ditch their home broadband in favour of mobile broadband without incurring reduced connections and fines for exceeding their data allowances, but by trying you sign, you can find out if a mobile broadband connection would suit your personal needs.

Although it’s been around for a while, mobile broadband has only recently begun to pick up pace, with costs falling and data allowances increasing. However, many of the packages currently available have lengthy 12, 18 and even 24 months contracts attached, but just think how things will have changed in two year’s time. Costs will have fallen even further and download limits will be a lot more generous, making a mobile broadband connection a commonplace thing and a real competitor to fixed line broadband where users have to pay an additional £132 a year just for line rental.

If you’re tied into a long contract you won’t be able to take advantage of the great new offers that will be available in a couple of year’s time.
