Sky is well established as a leader for digital TV for 20 years but made its entry into the broadband market by acquiring Easynet a few years ago. Sky specialises in home broadband, tv and phone bundles but customers must take a tv package to be eligible for other services.
Products – All sky packages come with a free wireless router, free internet security and customers must commit. Customers must pay a connection fee of £30 and commit to a 12 month contract.
The amount that you pay for your broadband is influenced by the package you take. You can get broadband added on for no extra charges but higher charges are applicable for faster service options.
Awards – uGov Joint Winner of Supplier Most Likely to be Recommended, uGov Award Winner Best Value for Money, uGov Winner Best for Ensuring Customers Are On The Best Deal.
Suitability – Sky offers relatively quick set-up with good customer service and tech support. Included in your monthly fee is McAfee internet security worth £50. Sky is also helpful in directing customers to a package which fits individual needs.
Our verdict – Sky is a reliable provider with good customer service. It is also very easy to use and the free broadband for existing customers offers great value for money. Sky’s bundle package prices are hard to compete with.
