Zen Broadband
Much of Zen Broadband’s (www.Zen.co.uk) new business is generated through word of mouth as news spreads of the string of awards and accolades the relatively small ISP has won over the years.
It offers a selection of home, business or home office packages, and prides itself on its dedication to reliability and customer service.
Zen has been “plugging businesses and homes into the internet since 1995” when it launched with only a handful of staff, growing over the years to a Rochdale-based workforce of over 250.
Unlike many competitors, Zen’s customer service and technical support teams don’t use or read from scripts - they “really know their stuff”.
Zen’s broadband packages
Zen offers three home broadband packages, and a range of home office and large business plans too.
Its three home broadband tariffs - Zen 8000 Lite, Zen 8000 Active and Zen 8000 Pro - all of which come with speeds of up to 8Mb, and a set download limit on a rolling one month contract (a £47 connection fee applies unless you’re migrating from another provider).
Zen 8000 Lite costs £17.99 a month and comes with a 5GB download allowance, Zen 8000 Active costs £24.99 a month and comes with a 25GB download allowance and Zen 8000 Pro costs £34.99 a month and comes with a whopping 50GB allowance. Additional data usage can be purchased.
It also offers a free broadband usage checker service so that you can check how much of your monthly allowance remains and what your average daily use is as well as a range of tools to help you choose the best package in the first place.
Home office and business packages
The same three packages, excluding VAT are available to small business and home office customers, while five medium and large business packages are also available as well as three SDSL plans.
Awards and accreditations
Having won the PC Pro Best Broadband ISP award for the past four years running, judges said: “Near-flawless customer service and reliability keep Zen at the top”.
Zen was voted the Which? Best Buy Broadband in March 2008 and also won awards at this year’s ISPA awards, taking the Best Business Email and Best Dial Up categories and earning a commendation in the Best Business ISP category.
In 2007 Zen took the Mac World award for the Best Mac-Friendly ISP and the PC Advisor magazine awards for Best Small ISP, Most Reliable ISP and Best Customer Service as well as a host of other awards in recent years.
