Be Broadband gets the personal touch

Be customers can now optimise their broadband to suit their internet needs, the super-fast provider has announced (07-10-08).
From today, users will be able to choose from four different settings on their Be Broadband (www.BeThere.co.uk) connection to get the most out of the internet according to what they use it for the most, whether for online gaming, streaming video content, downloading files or talking to friends and family abroad:

- Standard setting: For everyday broadband usage
- Optimise for speed: Designed for those who consume a lot of media over the internet, such as watching videos on YouTube and the BBC iPlayer
- Optimise for reliability: For those who spend a large amount of time online and need to guarantee the least amount of downtime, such as those using VoIP services like Skype
- Gaming Mode: For online gamers, giving them a quicker response time when connecting to servers
Felix Geyr, managing director of Be Broadband, said: “As consumers become increasingly sophisticated in their internet needs, the one size fits all approach will no longer suffice. Be’s customised approach is like tuning the engine of a car to get the best performance. While the speed of your internet is still dependent upon your individual broadband connection, this new service will allow Be members to get the most out of their broadband.”
Be Broadband customers can log into the online Member Centre to manage their account and personalise their connection.
