AOL Broadband
AOL is one of the UK’s most family-friendly ISPs, offering parental control software as well as anti-virus measures and a free wireless router. AOL Broadband is working hard to expand its local loop unbundled (LLU) network so that it can offer even cheaper broadband to more of its customers. Call AOL on 0800 049 4404
AOL offers two different broadband packages; the Broadband Wireless package offers speeds of up to 8Mb with a 10GB download allowance and currently costs £9.99 for the first six months and £14.99 thereafter (selected areas only). Broadband Wireless customers also get AOL Talk Evenings & Weekends International at no extra cost for the first three months.
An 18 month contract applies to the Broadband Wireless package.
AOL’s top package, Broadband Wireless Plus, comes with a choice of either a free HP laptop, or a free Sony PlayStation 3. It comes with an up to 8Mb connection and a much higher download limit of 40GB per month.
Customers can also choose from a selection of additional AOL Talk phone packages and costs start from £19.99 a month with AOL’s Talk Pay As You Go, up to £29.99 a month if you take no Talk package at all.
However, the Broadband Wireless Plus package is subject to a massive 24 month contract.
All new Broadband Wireless and Broadband Wireless Plus customers also get a free wireless router worth £50.
AOL applies “regional pricing” so customers living outside of AOL’s unbundled areas will have to pay extra for their broadband. This is an additional £5 a month for Broadband Wireless customers and an additional £10 a month for Broadband Wireless Plus customers.
Standard security features
