Virgin Media has announced a new 16Mb product for customers on its National broadband ADSL services.
Customers who live outside of the company’s cable area and take its ADSL broadband, delivered via their phone line, can now double their speed from up to 8Mb to up to 16Mb.

Even better, all Virgin Media (www.VirginMedia.com) National broadband customers will be able to sign up to a free three month trial of the new faster download speed to see how it performs.
Once the free trial period is up they will be able to keep their faster speed for just £5 a month more than their existing package, without having to sign any new contract, and the service can be added or removed at any time.
“The new Virgin Media National ‘up to 16Mb’ service is perfect for anyone wanting to give their broadband an instant pick-me-up, even if only for a month or two,” said the ISP. “Customers could benefit from a broadband boost during school holidays or in the run up to Christmas, when more members of the family might want to get online at the same time.”
Mark Schweitzer, chief commercial officer at Virgin Media, said: “We want everyone to be able to try fast broadband and experience the benefits firsthand, which is why we’ve created this double-speed broadband boost. With fast broadband enabling customers to surf the web and download films, TV and music in no time at all, the internet is now better than ever, so we’re confident this new enhancement will be a hit.”
