Speed

This column lists the download speed that each broadband package offers. Download speeds typically range from 512kb up to 24Mb, depending on the package you are interested on. The higher the Mb, the faster your connection; for example, a 1Mbps connection is 10 times faster than a standard dial up connection.

You should always remember that the speed advertised is the maximum you could get, and probably not what you will actually receive. Distance from the exchange and contention rates are just two of the factors that affect actual speeds.
