Mobile broadband allows you to take the internet with you wherever you go, and as long as you've got a mobile signal, you’ll be able to get online. To check T-Mobile coverage and availability before you buy, visit www.T-Mobile.co.uk/Street-Check.
All the major mobile networks now offer mobile broadband, but each offers different levels of cover in different locations. It is important to check that you can get coverage in your area before you apply for a mobile broadband contract.
T-Mobile (www.T-mobile.co.uk) currently covers around 90% of the UK, with plans to increase this to 98% by the end of 2010. And the ISP’s recent merger with Orange means that customers will soon be able to benefit from an even stronger mobile broadband network.
T-Mobile currently offers a top speed of up to 7.2Mb, though a number of different factors, such as peak time congestion, your proximity to the local mobile phone mast and even the thickness of your own walls can all affect your speed.
To find out what the coverage is like in your area, your local pub or even along your daily commute, check T-Mobile's website www.T-Mobile.co.uk/Street-Check.
