About O2 Broadband

The mobile phone provider has a range of competitively priced packages, with a discount for existing mobile phone customers. O2 offers the best value broadband packages for customers already on, or willing to take, a mobile phone from the ISP.

Although O2 Broadband is a relatively new entrant to the broadband market, it has become known as a fast, reliable ISP with excellent customer service, picking up a host of awards along the way. To find out how O2 broadband customers rated their service read our O2 Broadband customer review.

The O2 Broadband service

O2 offers three broadband packages, priced differently depending on whether or not you have an O2 mobile contract. However, O2 business broadband is available on its Pro package alone. All offer “unlimited broadband” downloads, subject to a fair usage policy.

O2 will conduct a line test before connecting new customers, and inform them of their expected speed so that they can sign up to the appropriate package. It will then conduct a second speed test a month later to ensure that customers are not paying for a speed they cannot get.

All customers also receive a free wireless router with simple plug-and-play set-up, free, 24-hour, UK-based technical support and customer service and free McAfee security and parental controls as well as added extras for O2 mobile customers.

Customers must sign a 12 month contract and will be subject to a fair usage policy for downloads, though the limits are very generous and packages are well suited to heavy downloaders. Non-O2 mobile customers will also pay a higher monthly rate than those already with the mobile phone provider.

O2 Broadband benefits

Pay-monthly and pay-as-you-go customers can not only take advantage of cheaper broadband costs, but can also have emails from their O2 accounts pushed forward to their mobiles for free and up to 100 free texts from their PC every month. Click here to Compare Broadband providers.
