Vodafone Mobile Broadband (www.Vodafone.co.uk) has added two new netbooks to its range of “free laptop” packages.
The Samsung N130 and the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 are perfectly designed for mobile broadband users, and packages start at £25 a month for a “free laptop” plus 1GB of data, or £30 a month for a laptop and a 3GB monthly download allowance on a 24 month contract.
The Samsung N130 comes with a 10.1in screen, a 160GB hard drive and a built-in webcam - it also comes with the latest Windows 7 operating system.
The Dell Inspiron Mini 10 is the same size and also comes with a built-in webcam and a 160GB hard drive, but runs on Windows XP instead.
Both laptops retail for around £250 and a typical 3GB mobile broadband package will set you back £15 a month if bought separately.
Michael Phillips, Broadbandchoices.co.uk product director, said: “Laptop deals are great for spreading the cost of a new PC, and a mobile broadband package is the perfect partner for one of these ultra-portable netbooks, allowing you to make the most of your new laptop by logging on and surfing the web no matter where you are.
“There are a few things you need to be aware of when signing a new mobile broadband contract though,” he advised. “You should always run a postcode search to make sure that you'll get adequate mobile broadband coverage where you live and also make sure that you keep an eye on your downloads so that you never exceed your limit. Vodafone charges £15 per extra GB of data so out of bundle costs can soon add up.”
