Vodafone Mobile Broadband (www.Vodafone.co.uk) has refreshed its packages, launching a new range of mobile broadband deals.

The three new mobile broadband packages, Standard, Premium and Ultimate now come with a range of added extras usually found on offer with fixed-line deals.

These new features make mobile broadband more like a fixed-line package

As well as a free dongle, all of Vodafone’s pay monthly mobile broadband offers now come with free PC security and online storage.

The new Standard package comes with a 3GB monthly download allowance, Basic PC Protection and PC Backup, which automatically stores up to 2GB of your files. It currently costs just £5 a month for the first three months, £15 a month thereafter if you sign up to a 24 month contract, though an 18 month option is also available.

The Premium deal comes with a 4GB download allowance, Premium PC Protection and a 20GB PC Backup for £20 a month. Customers signing up for 24 months can get this deal for £7.50 a month for the first three months.

Finally, the Ultimate package comes with a 5GB download allowance, Premium PC Protection and a 20GB PC Backup for £25 a month, with a reduction to just £10 a month for the first three months if you sign a 24 month contract.

Vodafone also offers a rolling one month contract on its Starter option, giving you a 3GB download allowance for £15 a month with a one-off payment of £19 for your modem.

However, it has also made a change to its pay as you go mobile broadband deals, putting a 30-day expiry date on unused credit.

Michael Phillips, Broadbandchoices.co.uk product director, said: “These new features make mobile broadband more like a fixed-line package, with PC security and online backup thrown into the deal. This will make packages more attractive to users who want to replace their home broadband with a mobile connection.

“However, customers using their mobile broadband as their main internet connection need to be especially careful not to exceed their download allowance, as out of bundle data soon adds up,” he warned.
