Wireless broadband allows you to get online with more than one computer at a time, as well as surfing the net with your iPad, netbook and smartphone without a single wire in sight.
A wireless router lets you make the most of the internet, but you do have to make sure that your network is properly protected to stop hackers, neighbours or passers by from using your broadband connection.
Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) is an older form of wireless protection, which does mean that it’s easier to hack. Some older hardware can be incompatible with the newer forms of encryption, leaving you no choice but to stick with WEP protection - which is still far better than leaving your network completely unprotected.
Use our free WEP Key Generator to create unique, hard to crack passwords to keep your wireless network as safe as possible. If you're using WPA encryption, visit our WPA Key Generator page.
Click refresh or press F5 on your keyboard and the generator will present a list of 64, 128 and 256 bit WEP keys for your router.
Each key is unique and the same one will never be generated twice so you can change your access key as often as you like.
| Encryption Type | Encryption Length | Encryption Key |
