BT is offering free mobile broadband to new business customers signing up for 24 months (20-10-08).
Any customers renewing or taking out a new, 24 month contract on BT's (www.BT.com) Business Total Broadband Options 2 or 3 will receive a free mobile broadband USB modem stick with a 1GB monthly allowance.

BT is using Vodafone's (www.Vodafone.co.uk) speedy network to run its first mobile broadband offering, with a top theoretical speed of 7.2Mb.
Although the download limit is low at only 1GB a month, customers also receive 2,000 wifi minutes with their mobile broadband for use at BT Openzone wireless hotspots - and the USB modem stick alerts customers whenever a faster wireless broadband signal is available instead.
This means that customers can now get an up to 8Mb business broadband connection, mobile broadband and wireless internet access from as little as £26.99 a month on a 24 month contract. However, this is an opt-in offer so customers must specify that they want free mobile broadband.
“We’re adding value to our broadband offer at a time when businesses are up against it on costs,” David Hughes, BT’s director of wireless broadband told PC Pro magazine. “It allows them to stay connected all the time.” He added that the company was looking into an upgrade package for the millions of BT Business customers already signed up.
BT Business Broadband customers who are not eligible for the deal or who don’t want to sign a long 24 month contract also have the option of taking out a separate mobile broadband package from BT. It costs £17.50 a month (ex VAT) and the dongle is free to customers signing a 24 month contract. Those on 18 or 12 month contracts will be charged £60 and £120 respectively.
BT said that if its business mobile broadband venture was successful, it would look at making the product more widely available.
Michael Phillips, BroadbandChoices.co.uk product director, said: “Although the usage allowance on BT’s free mobile broadband offer is low, this promotion is still great for business customers that need mobile broadband for long train journeys and out of office meetings. The free Openzone minutes, which allow customers to use faster wifi hotspots where available and save their mobile broadband download allowance, will help that 1GB to go a lot further.”
