Sky (www.Sky.com) offers three broadband packages that can be combined with Sky’s digital TV service and its home phone packages, the Broadband Everyday Lite and Broadband Unlimited packages offer speeds of up to 20Mb broadband, and the Broadband Connect package offers speeds of up to 8Mb broadband.
Sky's broadband network is available to over 70% of the population, increasing to 88% by June 2013.
You can get broadband from Sky without signing up to its digital TV service, though only with the Unlimited package. You can also save money by adding its home phone calls service as well.
Sky’s ADSL broadband - broadband delivered via the traditional telephone wire network - packages offer speeds of up to 20Mb for customers living within Sky's network area, or up to 8Mb for customers outside of the network area. The Everyday Lite package, which is essentially a free broadband add-on for TV and home phone customers, comes with a low 2GB monthly download allowance. This means that it really only is suitable for light users who don’t spend a lot of time online.
On the other hand, its Unlimited package, which is one of the UK’s only truly unlimited packages - with no fair usage policy or traffic management - is perfect if you really want to make the most of the internet.
It is this package that is also available to broadband only customers. But broadband only, in Sky's case, means broadband without TV - you must take line rental with any of the broadband packages.
From April 2012 Sky's fibre broadband product is available offering speeds of up to 40Mb. The service will use BT's fibre network and will initially be available to 30% of the UK population increasing as BT rolls out its network.

Sky’s range of broadband packages includes “free broadband” and one of the UK’s few truly unlimited broadband packages.
This means that, whether you're a TV customer looking to add broadband without the extra cost, want to max out your bundle with a top TV package and genuinely unlimited broadband, or simply want to make the most of your broadband without a digital TV subscription, Sky should have a package to suit you.
Michael Phillips, Broadbandchoices.co.uk product director, said: “The flexibility offered by Sky’s broadband-only option means that it now appeals to many new customers who want a fast, reliable and truly unlimited package, without having to sign-up for digital TV as well.
“Having said that, it is also a great choice if you're looking to bundle your broadband with other services, and Sky offers the UK’s biggest selection of high-definition channels with its digital TV service and HD Pack.”
