(22-01-08) - The Internet Service Providers’ Association (ISPA) has announced the finalists for its 10th annual industry awards
There are 13 categories, covering all areas of the market, from Best consumer ISP to Best internet telephony and even Best dial-up.
Finalists have to meet minimum customer numbers and are selected on performance measures set by Epitiro - an independent customer experience assessor.
The finalists for the Best Consumer ISP category are yet to be announced, but finalists for some of the other important awards are a follows:
Best consumer broadband
Best wireless broadband
Best internet telephony
Best consumer email
Best dial-up
Best business ISP
Other categories include Best shared hosting, Best portal, Best streaming, Best dedicated hosting, Best business broadband and Best business email where providers such as Namesco (www.Names.co.uk), Eclipse (www.Eclipse.net.uk) and Plusnet (www.Plus.net) all made an appearance.
Michael Phillips, BroadbandChoices.co.uk product director, said: “These awards take into account the customer service and technical support offered as well as the actual broadband provided, so they are a good indicator of a high-quality provider.
“Many of this year’s nominees are well known providers, such as Virgin Media (www.VirginMedia.com), Pipex (www.Pipex.com) and Tesco (www.Tesco.net), who regularly feature in the ISPA awards.”
The Best consumer ISP nominees are yet to be announced, but winners will be revealed in a ceremony on 14 March.
