Mobile phone giant T-Mobile is giving away free laptops to customers signing up to its mobile broadband service.

Customers willing to sign a £30 a month mobile broadband contract - and stay with T-Mobile (www.T-Mobile.co.uk) on the 3GB a month contract for 24 months can now get themselves a free Acer TravelMate 5320, worth £349.99.
The package on offer is the Mobile Broadband Plus, which normally costs £10 per month on a 24 month contract or £20 a month on a 12 month contract, and comes with a free USB modem stick and a monthly download allowance of 3GB. You also get inclusive access to T-Mobile’s hotspots for wireless access.
The Acer laptop has a 15.4" screen, 120GB hard drive and comes with Windows Vista Home Premium. It also has a built-in web-cam, a 5-in-1 card reader and is wireless enabled so that you can get online using your home wifi network or T-Mobile hotspots.
Michael Phillips, BroadbandChoices.co.uk product director, said: “I always advise people to steer clear of 24 month contracts as they are over-long and you could miss out on better deals as you wait for your contract to expire - and at £30 a month, this is more than double the cost of Mobile Broadband Plus without the free laptop.
“Having said that, for anyone who is looking for a free laptop offer and a mobile broadband connection, T-Mobile is a good choice. Its mobile broadband is 'consistently the fastest of any of the UK networks', according to PC Pro magazine in August, and with a fair usage policy rather than a set download allowance, you’ll never pay more that your monthly flat rate - though you may well be asked to upgrade to a more appropriate package if you consistently exceed your limit.”
