Question: What is TalkTalk's contention ratio? How does it compare to other providers?
Answer: TalkTalk Broadband’s (www.TalkTalk.co.uk) Essentials and Pro packages each have a 50:1 contention ratio. This means that up to 50 broadband customers will share the same bandwidth at any one time.
A 50:1 contention ratio is standard for home broadband packages across the UK, with business broadband packages typically set around 20:1, so that your business will have a faster, more reliable connection. For comparison, home broadband plans from BT Broadband (www.BT.com), Plusnet Broadband (www.Plus.net), O2 Broadband (www.O2.co.uk) and Virgin Media (www.Virginmedia.com) also all come with a 50:1 contention ratio.
