carry out a speed check, compare it with the others in your area with similar distances etc etc then get onto the supplier and ask why yours is much slower than the others around the area. If everyone does a speed check and it is mapped the picture will be much clearer.

When the BT engineer makes a connection, do you see him clean the copper before making the connection, (NO). The oxide on the coper is affecting the connection (Basic electrics) this causes noise on the lines, reduces broadband speed as well.
Some people in my area are up to 6MB and others same distance are 0.7MB which is shocking. I am an electronics engineer, I know what the problems are but BT engineers dont. That is why so many people have slow speeds - Aug 1 2011 6:55AM
We now offer an easy-to-use improved online speed tester and have discontinued the downloadable speed tester. We’re confident you’ll find the new online speed tester much better than the old one. The old speed tester will not work from 31 March 2011.
What should you do now?
Please uninstall the downloadable speed tester as this may issue error messages.
Un-installing the speed tester (takes just 20 seconds)
1 - Right click on black icon that is next to the PC Clock on the bottom right of your screen.
2 - Then select "Exit"
3 - Now click on "Start" on the bottom left of your screen
4 - Now Select "Programs"
5 - Now Select "Broadband Choices"
6 - Now select "uninstall".

Invalid uninstall control file: E\Program Files\Uninstall\uninstall.xml
Please can you tell me why this is happening and what I need to do to ba able to uninstall your product.

I have recently joined ur broadband sevice. U kindly sent me a wireless cd to help set up. This sadly, does not recognise my operating system....windows 7. Can you please let me have a updated disc with this so i can rectify this issue.
