Direct Save Telecom (www.DirectSaveTelecom.co.uk) launched in 1999, aiming to offer “a dependable and reliable service” with no contract. It offers rolling 28-day broadband plans - perfect for customers who only need broadband for a short time, or who simply don’t want to sign-up on a long contract.
Direct Save Telecom offers three broadband packages:
Each package has three landline call charge options:
Each package offers a download speed of "up to 13Mb" and there are no set up fees. Extra usage outside of your allowance is charged at £5 per 5GB, or £1.45 per 1GB.
Direct Save Telecom launched a "recession-busting" broadband deal in May 2012, which the provider claims is the cheapest in Britain. Costing just £2.49 a month for broadband for the duration of the 24-month contract, it is certainly an eye-catching deal.
Direct Save's biggest draw is its no contract broadband packages, which allow users to cancel at just 28 days' notice.
It also offers reasonably cheap broadband relative to its competitors.
Michael Phillips, product director at BroadbandChoices.co.uk, says: “Direct Save Telecom is a good choice for anyone looking for a short contract broadband package that offers a faster, more reliable download speed than mobile broadband.
“However, users need to keep an eye on their download limit to avoid incurring extra usage charges. Direct Save Telecom customers can install our free Broadband Download Monitor to ensure they never exceed their limit.
“Alternatively, Be Broadband (www.BeThere.co.uk) also offers three and nine-month contracts, with unlimited downloads - though it will usually cost more than Direct Save’s Basic or Family package.”
