TalkTalk has announced that it will be welcoming Tiscali and Pipex customers with a range of product and service improvements.
TalkTalk Broadband (www.TalkTalk.co.uk), is now the market leader after acquiring Tiscali Broadband (www.Tiscali.co.uk) in May, with more than four million broadband customers.
TalkTalk said that Tiscali customers would now be able to enjoy the benefits of higher bandwidth, greater capacity and advanced services, as well as lower-cost telephone calls.
“We understand that customers of Tiscali and their brands including Pipex Broadband (GotoLink>www.Pipex.co.uk), Nildram (www.Nildram.co.uk) and Freedom2Surf (www.Freedom2surf.net) are looking to us introduce new products and services and we’re looking to do that and there are already things in the pipeline,” said TalkTalk managing director, Wendy Becker. “We’re looking at specific customers, understanding their needs and coming up with ways to enhance their experience.”
TalkTalk added that improving customer service would also be a focus: “We’ve invested heavily in customer service and we’ll be applying these learnings very quickly to ensure Tiscali customers begin to see improvements in the short term,” explained Becker.
“Our research shows that 90 per cent of our customers think our network is as good or better than their previous network,” she added.
TalkTalk’s local loop unbundled (LLU) network allows it to offer cheap broadband to 80 per cent of the UK via 1,700 fully unbundled telephone exchanges.
Michael Phillips, BroadbandChoices.co.uk product director, said: “Many Tiscali customers were worried when their ISP was put up for sale, so they - and customers of Tiscali’s other brands that were also bought - will welcome TalkTalk’s plans to improve their service and cut call costs.”
