Offering the UK’s cheapest standalone broadband from just £6.49 a month and promising that it “won’t be beat” on price, Plusnet offers speeds of up to 16Mb across all of its ADSL2+ - copper telephone wire - packages.

“Standalone means the price for 'just broadband' without phone or TV bundled in,” adds the provider. “So you'll still need a landline to get our service, but we'll tell you if yours is compatible with our broadband when we check your number.”

With Plusnet you can get on t’internet at speeds of up to 16Mb - no matter which package you sign-up to.

The only thing that will change is your download allowance. Plusnet’s Value broadband package, offers a 10GB monthly limit, while its high-end Extra package comes with a more generous 60GB a month.

However, you will also get free overnight downloads between midnight and 8am on both packages - allowing you to schedule bandwidth-hungry applications to run late at night.

Plusnet offers home phone packages and line rental too, which means that you can bundle your Yorkshire broadband to make even more savings.

Flexible broadband packages

If you don’t want to be tied into a 12-month contract, Plusnet offers a flexible deal that allows you to get online on a rolling one-month contract.

You will have to pay a £25 to activate your service, but once you're connected you'll be able to cancel your connection whenever you need to - with just 10 day’s notice.

You can either use your own equipment, or pay £20 for a wired router, or £40 for a wireless router from Plusnet.
