Orange’s selection of mobile broadband packages covers 30 day, 18 month and 24 month contracts, starting with just 500MB a month, going up to a generous 10GB allowance.
You can add extra usage using Orange’s rolling bundles, costing just £5 for an extra GB and going up to £20 for 10GB.
If you don’t add an extra allowance and exceed your download limit, out of bundle charges cost 4.9p per MB on 30 day contracts and 1.96p per MB on 18 month plans, while free laptop customers pay 2p per out of bundle MB.
EU roaming costs £2.94 per MB and worldwide roaming costs £6.46 per MB. However, roaming bundles can be bought to reduce the cost of downloading abroad.
To make sure that you don’t accidentally run up large roaming bills, Orange mobile broadband dongles have to be activated for roaming by calling 150 from any Orange phone or 07973 100 150 from any other phone.
Orange has a broad range of free laptop deals to choose from, including Compaq laptops, Samsung laptops and Toshiba laptops with mobile broadband. It also offers the only Asus laptops with mobile broadband available in the UK.
As well as a great range of mobile broadband packages, Orange offers the cheapest data bundles on the market. Some other providers charge £15 for an extra GB of data, while Orange charges just £5, with 1GB, 3GB, 5GB and 10GB bundles on offer.
It is also the only mobile broadband provider to offer free over night downloads. With its Early Bird tariffs customers can get free downloads between midnight and 9am, allowing users to save their precious download allowance for daylight hours.
As with other Orange products, Orange mobile broadband customers also get 2 for 1 cinema tickets on Wednesdays.
While more than 80 per cent of the UK can connect to a mobile broadband network, you should always use Orange’s online mobile broadband coverage checker to see what your connection will be like before signing up. Its post code checker lets you check three different areas at once - for example, your home, your work and your local pub.
If you do sign up and find that you don’t have adequate coverage, you can return your dongle and cancel your contract within 14 days.
Michael Phillips, BroadbandChoices.co.uk product director, said: “With its flexible contracts - starting from just 30 days - and its cheap extra usage bundles, Orange mobile broadband is a great choice for anyone looking for a good value package - especially if you're not sure how much you're going to download each month.
“Its Early Bird tariffs are great too, allowing you to do all your downloading overnight, so you need never exceed your download allowance.”
