BE Broadband (www.Bethere.co.uk) has permanently cut the price of its Be Value package from £13.50 a month to just £7.50.
It has also ditched the “unlimited broadband” aspect of the 8Mb broadband package, replacing it with a 40GB monthly download allowance - with no traffic shaping, so your surfing won’t be slowed down at peak times.
| This price cut makes BE Value a really great choice for anyone looking for a fast, reliable connection that isn’t throttled at peak times |
Research conducted by BE when developing the new service found that members overwhelmingly favoured a limited service instead of a traffic managed service, where your ISP limits certain traffic or certain types of downloads.
Tom Williams, head of operations at BE, said: "The trends we’re seeing are for no traffic management allowing more freedom and of course lower prices. Our members demand the freedom to prioritise and think for themselves, not have their broadband provider do it for them.
“We believe there are a lot of customers that will leap at the chance to get a service that doesn’t slow down based on the content of their downloads but don’t use the internet enough to justify an unlimited product."
Customers who consistently need more than 40GB a month can sign up to one of BE’s other packages, Unlimited or Pro, both of which come with “unlimited” downloads, subject to a generous fair usage policy, and 24Mb broadband.
Michael Phillips, Broadbandchoices.co.uk product director, said: “This price cut makes BE Value a really great choice for anyone looking for a fast, reliable connection that isn’t throttled at peak times - without the high end price tag.”
