Virgin Media launches business broadband packages

Virgin Media (www.VirginMedia.com) has rebranded ntl: Telewest Business to launch its own Virgin Media Business broadband packages.

The ISP said that it was aiming to “become the clear alternative to BT”, providing each business customer with “their own regionally based account team to manage their needs”.

Neil Berkett, CEO of Virgin Media, said: “Our next generation consumer services, in broadband and video-on-demand, are unrivalled in speed and quality of service. There is now a significant opportunity to leverage the full power of our fibre optic network in the business telecoms market.

“Virgin Media Business will take our strong customer-centric approach to a growing and under-served market in which there is a need for a compelling and distinctive alternative to BT.”

The provider offers 4Mb, 10Mb and 20Mb cable broadband packages, which can be bundled with landline calls, and Virgin Media will also begin offering its superfast 50Mb broadband to business customers later this year.

Business broadband customers who are not connected to Virgin Media’s fibre optic cable network can still sign up to one of the ISP’s copper wire ADSL packages.
