This is totally wrong, most likely staged by Karoo, I've got 16 houses using Karoo, best packages available.. 4kb/s downloads, NOTHING to do with the computers, this is the same for everyone else, Karoo disconnects everyone every 5 minutes, they're the worst internet provider in the world... Trust me, at least 70,000 people are getting the same disconnection problems, EVERYONE is getting the SHIT download speeds and over 210,000 people signed a petition to get a new internet provider in? - Jul 26 2011 6:43PM

To all you Karoo users who are disappointed with their current download and upload speeds I would strongly suggest switching to a company called Airnet, they are a Hull based company who supply landlines and internet access at a not amazingly cheap price but is still less than Karoo. I did so a few months ago and I couldn't be happier, my download has topped off at 25mb/s and upload at 12mb/s, their service is excellent, couldn't recommend them more, especially over Karoo - Jul 5 2011 5:07PM

If the thought of living in the UK's worst possible place for provision of broadband internet holds a certain appeal, you really should consider moving to Hull. You wouldn't be disappointed!

Yes you could then experience the joys of choosing your broadband internet provider from the City's sole supplier, KC Internet, and so actually have no choice at all. Having made your carefully considered choice of provider, its time to decide upon which of the service options on offer seems to you to represent good value for your money. In all probability that will be none of them. Finally, occasional periods of downtime not withstanding, the Information Superhighway that is the Internet is yours to explore, resplendent with a very local blend of Highway Robbery.

Hi, My computer seems very slow, it's a Mac. I've done a speed test and it's showing Download speed of 8.09 Mbps and Upload speed of 0.77 Mbps. Is there anything you or I can do to improve this?
Thanks,
David

i pay 29.99 for broadband and only get 12mg .!!i'm not even on the top package.!! and to be honest most of the time its slow.! ive got a new router so its not that.!! and when people in little villages IE "keingham" can get 20meg .! i feel robbed no wait i AM been robbed blind - Mar 19 2011 5:25PM

Great. I remain an avid supporter of Karoo, and look forward to the next speed update. However I have no complaints regarding the current service, while the modification to the 'village' street boxes, means there are fewer disconnections, AND resetting is easier from home. Your telephone help desk is damned good - gold standard. Please keep it up! - Feb 27 2011 3:10PM

I would love a sky package inc TV for £20 a month but am stuck with Karoo broadband costing almost as much on its own. Its time to be honest with your customers for a change and admit Karoo can't give the people of Hull a decent service then allow others who can to take over. Kcom is a disgrace - Feb 18 2011 2:06PM

I find Karoo poor in the evening, trying to watch bbci player and itv player is impossible as it I'd stopping ever 20 seconds to catch up .talking to people in the area who are with bt don't seem to suffer such problems.Considering the cost I think the service is poor. saw something in paper about 4 months ago saying karoo was going to be able to offer package deals for broadband and telephone calls like sky ? it said deal would be ready around dec2010 jan2011 is this true - Jan 10 2011 11:34AM

We get 4Mb from Karoo, fair enough, but I am sick to death of their advertising offering 24Mb. Karoo have an option that tells me what the best speed I can get from their service, ADSL 2+ 5Mb, ADSL 4Mb. How on earth can they crow about offering 24Mb to customers?

I think Karoo pricing should be modified to take account of not just usage, but also speed of connection, so a 24Mb (and I'd love to know where in Hull you need to live to get that) connection with a 20Gb limit would cost more than a 4Mb connection (which most of us get) with the same usage allowance. Much in the same way I'd pay more for a Ferrari than I would a Trabant.
