TalkTalk Broadband

TalkTalk was the first provider to offer “free broadband” back in 2006 and you can still take advantage of this money saving bundle. TalkTalk is a local loop unbundled (LLU) provider which allows it to offer very cheap broadband, but also means that you have to take a TalkTalk phone line and phone package along with its broadband.

TalkTalk Broadband package options

TalkTalk’s Talk2 International, Talk2 Total, Talk3 International and Talk3 Total phone packages all come with free 8Mb broadband and a download allowance of 40GB per month.

Prices range from £5.89 a month for the Talk2 International, which comes with free UK evening and weekend calls and free calls to 36 international destinations, to £14.99 a month for the Talk3 Total package, which includes free UK calls at any time, free calls to 36 international destinations and 100 anytime minutes to call UK mobiles.

You will also have to pay £10.50 for TalkTalk’s line rental. All packages also include a free modem and are subject to an 18 month contract.

Why choose TalkTalk Broadband?

Most households will spend around £10.50 per month on line rental, plus the cost of their calls, plus at least £13 per month on broadband, so “free broadband” obviously undercuts most of TalkTalk’s competitors.

Although TalkTalk faced some teething problems when it first launched the free broadband offer, and was unable to cope with the demand, it has since injected £15 million to improve its customer services.

The main benefit of TalkTalk is clearly its value for money. As well as completely cutting out the cost of your broadband, it offers well priced call packages that even include international numbers and those calls that are chargeable undercut BT and many of the other big ISPs that offer home phone and broadband bundles.
