Compare Broadband

While the huge company may have started life as a humble market stall it is now a provider of almost everything you could possibly need. Tesco has a wide offering of broadband packages ranging from their familiar, no frills, Tesco Value brand, up to the high-download-limit and fast connection you get from their Tesco Finest package.

The history of Tesco

Now one of the UK’s leading retailers, Tesco started life as an East London market stall in the 1920s. The company opened its first supermarket in Westbury in 1967 and is now a hugely successful international brand. Tesco Personal Finance was launched in the 1990s, and was soon followed by communications services such as home phone and Tesco broadband.

The Tesco broadband service

Tesco offers six packages to choose from, starting with the Value package, a 512Kb connection with a 3GB download allowance for £13.97 a month and going up in price to the Finest package, with a 2Mb speed and unlimited downloads for £24.97 a month and no download limit (fair usage applies).

With every Tesco broadband package, customers get:

  • 50Mb of webspace to build a simple website
  • Webmail access to all Tesco email accounts
  • Customer services lines open seven days a week, email support and a technical support phone line

All customers also get a free modem - Finest broadband customers get a free wireless router - and free connection.
