Broadband Guide

Vodafone mobile broadband coverage

Vodafone provides strong coverage across most UK towns and cities and certain parts of the UK countryside. Check your coverage at www.Vodafone.co.uk/Coverage-Check

Each of the main UK mobile networks offers different levels of coverage. Just because you get a good quality mobile broadband connection on one network won't mean you will get the same quality of connection on another. This guide will tell you what to look out for when getting Vodafone mobile broadband.

Vodafone mobile broadband coverage

Vodafone (www.Vodafone.co.uk) is one of the largest mobile telecoms companies in the world and is also one of the few UK networks to be UK-owned.

The name is a combination of Voice data and fone, and represents the company's provision of both voice and data services over their network.

The Vodafone 3G network covers most large cities and towns in the UK, although there are areas especially in the countryside, where the Vodafone mobile broadband network may not be available. For this reason it is important to check that your area is covered before taking out a mobile broadband contract or package.

You can check our Vodafone mobile broadband map (right) to get an idea where it offers 3G coverage and where it may be worth checking other providers. The Vodafone 3G network reaches a large proportion of the UK population but it is always worth checking their website for detailed coverage information (www.Vodafone.co.uk).

One factor that contributes to your mobile broadband coverage is your proximity to your nearest mobile phone mast, the closer you are the better the connection and speed you are likely to get.

There are things you can do to improve your broadband signal quality:

  • Choose your mobile broadband package not only based on cost and usage allowances, but also on the coverage provided by your chosen network
  • The more obstructions (such as buildings and trees) there are between you and the mast the worst your signal will be
  • You may be able to improve the quality of your Vodaphone mobile broadband coverage by changing the room you're in.

Broadband coverage is just as important a consideration as price when deciding on the best provider and package for you. Both are worth investigating to ensure that you get the right mobile broadband. Our mobile broadband comparison tool can help you find the best mobile broadband package depending on your needs.
