Sports and broadband

Football hitting net

Which provider offers the best broadband and sports bundles? Is Sky or BT best for live Premier League games? And what sports channels can you get on Virgin Media and Plusnet? We take a look.

The thing is, there’s no real way of getting sports and broadband on their own - with most providers, you’ll have to take out a TV package too. And when it comes to choosing a sports package, the two providers who offer the most for your buck are BT Sport and Sky Sports.

The great thing about Plusnet broadband is that it's relatively cheap. Team with that consistently highly rated customer service and you can see why many people choose it over better known, household-name providers.

If you're an existing Plusnet broabdand customer, for an extra £10 per month you can add the BT Sport App. Which gets you BT Sport 1 HD, BT Sport 2 HD, BT Sport 3 HD, BT Sport // ESPN HD and BoxNation. Critically, you'll also be able to watch 52 live Premier League games per season.

Alternatively, you can sign up for a Plusnet TV and broadband bundle that gets you a YouView set top box. That features the same channels as the app, as well as HD.

Unfortunately, though, Plusnet doesn't currently offer any way of watching Sky Sports.
