Vodafone is one of the world's largest mobile phone companies, a worldwide brand who deliver a range of network services in dozens of countries worldwide.
In the UK, Vodafone's product range caters for everyone with the latest handsets, a wide range of price plans combined with some fantastic benefits - think free subscriptions to streaming services, one-month test drives, flexible upgrades, and more.
Vodafone began in the 1980s as a subsidiary of Racal Electronics, then in 1991 it became an independent company, going on to acquire Peoples Phone and the remainder of Talkland in 1996.
A name change followed in June 1999 after the purchase of AirTouch Communications, when it became Vodafone Airtouch Plc. The takeover of AirTouch Communications also gave the company a 35% interest in Mannesmann. The next year, the company was part of the largest corporate merger ever at the time, when it took over Mannesmann fully.
Shortly after, the company was broken up, with all manufacturing operations sold and the company reverting to its previous Vodafone Group plc name.
Vodafone is now one of the world's largest mobile companies and remains one of the main networks in the UK.
Vodafone offers a huge range of mobile options. A huge number of contract handsets are available, ranging from the latest iPhone to cheap and cheerful budget devices, and monthly tariffs can go all the way up to 20GB of data with unlimited minutes and texts.
You'll also find SIM-only deals with plenty of options, including Vodafone Red plans that give you speedy 4G and lots of extras.
And, of course, you can get pay-as-you-go SIMs with no contract or commitment at all.
Vodafone's UK coverage is nice and wide, with around 90% of the country able to connect to its 3G. 4G services are a little less widely available, but coverage is improving by the day.
