TalkTalk gives away LG smartwatch free with new G3 smartphone

Get a free LG G Watch worth over £100 when you get the critically-acclaimed LG G3 smartphone on TalkTalk Mobile, with plans starting from £25 a month with nothing to pay upfront…

If you're with TalkTalk for broadband and wouldn't mind a new smartphone, there's a blinding new offer from TalkTalk Mobile you might find impossible to refuse.

For £25 a month, and with nothing to pay upfront, you'll get the awesome new LG G3 smartphone with 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 600MB of mobile data. As if that's not enough, the first 500 customers to grab the deal will also get a free LG G Watch.

The only catch is you've got to sign a 24-month contract, although that's pretty standard these days for pay-monthly phone plans. You also need to have TalkTalk broadband to be able to take advantage of the offer.

TalkTalk Mobile's Dan Meader said it wants to make customers "better off" by removing the "hefty costs" involved in buying a smartphone that's only just come out.

The LG G3, which was only released at the end of June, has so far been a roaring success with critics, who've praise its sleek, metal-bodied design and top-end specs that rival just about any other handset currently on sale.

Similarly impressive is the LG G Watch, one of the very first Android Wear smartwatches to emerge when it hit the shops last week.

With an interface based on the Google Now app, which you've probably used if you own an Android smartphone, the G Watch brings Google Maps to your wrist and connects wirelessly to your phone. So you can see reminders, notifications, messages and calls without having to get your phone out.

The fact you'll be getting both from TalkTalk Mobile for £25 a month, with diddly-squat to shell out by way of down payment, makes this easily one of the most affordable ways of getting your hands on an up-to-the-minute, high-end handset.

However, TalkTalk Mobile - which is actually based on the Vodafone network - doesn't offer 4G mobile internet. So, if you get the G3 on it, you'll only get 3G, despite having the latest 4G-compatible device in your hand.

If you can get 4G where you live, and you want the kind of speeds you get with home broadband on your mobile, then you'll have to look beyond this deal and pay extra for an LG G3 on a 4G price plan from a network like Three.

On the other hand, this deal's a no-brainer if you just want the latest handset at an affordable price - plus a free smartwatch if you're quick off the mark - and you either can't get 4G or you're happy using 3G for a while longer yet.
