New Sky Sports On Demand service to cover every Premier League team

Fans of Premier League clubs are no doubt already pretty happy about the new footy season starting, but Sky Sports is about to put a cherry on your footballing cake…

Sky Sports has introduced a new service and a range of upgrades in time for start of the 2014/15 football season.

Sky Sports is offering fans of every Premier League club an unmissable selection of programming and features about their favourite team.

The new service, available to all Sky customers with a sports TV package, allows fans to choose from 20 different clubs in the on-demand section on the Sky+ HD box, and includes:

  • 116 live matches from the Barclays Premier League
  • Interviews and documentaries featuring players and managers
  • Documentaries of legends and golden eras
  • Clips and features from Soccer AM and The Fantasy Football Club

Sky Sports head of football, Gary Hughes, said: "For the first time, Sky Sports viewers can download and enjoy some of the best content dedicated to their team, whenever they want. Fans of all 20 clubs will soon be able to watch the latest news and views on their club at any time, thanks to Sky Sports."

Sky has also enhanced its digital services in time for the new season, which starts this weekend.

Upgrades across all apps and will kick in tomorrow including the launch of Sky Sports 5, which will be available live to Sky Sports subscribers across all apps and the website.

New features and upgrades include improvements to Football Score Centre, Sky Sports' most popular app, a second-screen experience for the Sky Sports for iPad app and the addition of breaking news and user polls to mobile apps.

The Sky Sports website has had a facelift and now includes Sky Sports 5 as a live streaming channel, and live polls that feed into Sky Sports News HQ coverage allowing you to add your opinion to a range of sporting debates.

Director of Sky Sports digital media, David Gibbs, said: "We aim to make Sky Sports the destination of choice for sports fans wherever they are - at home or on the go. Therefore we're bringing more content and functionality to all our apps and website with more of the features users love like video content, personalisation, stats, polls, enhanced match coverage and notifications."

All services are available free to Sky Sports subscribers, and non-subscribers can access them via the Sky Sports for iPad app for £4.99 a month.
