Relish launches same day broadband service for Londoners

If you’re based in or near Central London, and want new broadband fast, Relish has a new service that may be right up your street. The wireless provider has launched a same day delivery service that can get you online the same day that you sign up.

Relish is a little different to most broadband providers in that it's wireless, using 4G technology to deliver superfast speeds to users in its coverage area in London. Because there's no landline or cables involved, you can simply set up your router and be good to go.

The company currently offers a 'next working day' delivery, but now it can send you a router on the same day, albeit for a one-off £20 charge. You'll also have to order before 12pm, and the service isn't available on weekends and bank holidays.

A study from Relish revealed that 57% of people in London have to wait between three days and a month for broadband to be installed (though frankly we'd be shocked if many had to wait as long as a month). In addition, more than a third have had to take time off work to have their internet installed.

Bridget Lorimer, head of brand and consumer marketing at Relish, said:

"Consumers have come to expect instant convenience, be it from taxis, same day Amazon deliveries, restaurant food at home, and even help around the house. We see no reason why broadband shouldn't be the same.

"We were the first to bring Londoners a broadband service that didn't require them to pay for landlines they don't want or need, and we are proud to be the first to bring same day broadband to the market. It's absurd that time-poor Londoners have to take time off work to wait for broadband. With our new service we are enabling Londoners to order in the morning, and 'Netflix and Chill' the same evening."
